Welcome!

Come on in and discover A Mosaic Moment.  It's MY Aha! place. It's the combination of those many moments that has brought me to this new route in my journey and the realization of a dream.  Come into the studio and share my oasis.  A Mosaic Moment is my chance to share my love of this art form with you.  It is here that I hope to help you discover an outlet for your artistic ideas or help you realize that you have them.

To help you understand the name A Mosaic Moment, it came about because it's the place I am at in my mind when I get a mosaic idea.  It's a phrase that my husband came up with after experiencing these moments with me.  We would be doing something totally unrelated and out of the clear blue I would get an idea for a new mosaic.  After a while, he started calling them mosaic moments and that seemed like a great name for my new studio.

About ten years ago my husband gave me the gift of an antique stained glass window.  I fell in love with the glass and had to find a way to work with it . At the time I did not have access to anyone that could teach me traditional stained glass so I started researching other ways to use it and found mosaics.  I soon realized that my love of doing puzzles could be coupled with the never ending rainbow of colors available in stained glass. So started my journey into mosaics.  I do not have an art degree and I don't have any fancy letters or titles after my name.  Neither do I have all the answers, but I am looking forward to figuring most of them out.   I have always been a do-it-yourself kind of gal and that is probably why most of my mosaic work has been with salvaged or reclaimed materials.  I love treasure hunting and the challenge of finding an odd piece and then figuring out how I can mosaic on it to give it a new life.

The art of mosaics is all encompassing, especially in choice of design and materials.  There is so much you can do.  If mosaics is new to you, I hope to give you a glimpse of wonder and creative fun. If you are an old hand at mosaics, at the very least I hope we can share our love of it.
